my how you’ve grown
asabell is six years old now and we’re expecting grannies to stop us in the street soon, pinch our cheeks and tell us that we’re big for our age. From just Darren in a small office we’ve grown steadily over the years, and now there are eleven of us. But as we get ever busier and more people join the team we’ve outgrown our premises and are on the move.
We chose the new asabell HQ because it gives us the space to set things up the way we want to, with no Georgian (and inconveniently-listed) walls in the way. We’ll be able to sit the right people together and create a working environment that will bring out the sparky best in everyone. It’s a much more modern space and gives us huge scope for increasing our green ways of working and keeping those emissions down.
And we’ve been able to find just what we need a bit further down the road from where we are now, so we’ll still be in reach of our favourite coffee shops. We look forward to showing you our new workspace soon. |
your starters for 2010
We’ve gained three new team members — Lucy and Alex as campaign managers and Charlie as a relationship manager. They’ve all got stuck in straight away and you’ve probably spoken to one or other of them already.
We’re always keen to see what our clients look like, so we thought you’d like to see who’s on the end of your asabell emails and phone calls. To help you get to know us better, we asked everyone to describe themselves in three words. After much debate, this is what we want to say about ourselves... |

ten things you didn’t know about asabell
|
- We have amazing team nights out. Last time we went to an ice hockey game and in a couple of weeks we’re going to slide down a ski slope on enormous inflatable rings
- We get through an alarming amount of take-away coffee and keep track of our consumption by piling up the cups. Our favourite coffee shop is Hobbs with 73 cups
- We steal scissors. There are never enough to go round and they are jealously guarded
- We do more than you think we do. As a full service agency we take on any aspect of marketing, including research and video work
- The most helpful person each week gets a bottle of wine
- Our name comes from ‘clear as a bell’. Only two clients have ever had that eureka moment where they worked it out in the middle of a meeting
- We have a biscuit barrel and a sweetie bowl. Our current favourites are chocolate digestives and chupa chups lollies. We used to have a fruit bowl, but nobody ate it
- We’re big believers in a relaxed atmosphere helping creative work. We have the radio on in the background and occasionally sing along, some people plug themselves into iPods and Darren has the cricket on in his room
- We have a red card system to show when we don’t want to be disturbed. We tried having coloured caps, but that just looked ridiculous
- Several members of our team bake on a whim and bring in treats to share. We work off the calories by running up and down the stairs carrying deliveries
