Moving towards a greener way of doing things is often simply a case of following through on that small, but bright idea – a philosophy that we share with our client, the Association of Colleges South West (AoC SW).

AoC SW wanted to establish how far its Further Education college members had introduced sustainable development practices, gathering together experiences and best practice to inspire and inform colleges. asabell, with a strong background in environmentally-friendly marketing, was the natural choice as partner in this project.

We took case study experiences of colleges from across the region and created an attractive A4 brochure displaying their achievements in an easy to read and interesting layout. To minimise the use of paper we produced a CD ROM containing the full survey results and the brochure. This approach allowed AoC SW to only commission a small print run to support their sustainability event while retaining the ability to distribute the information quickly and easily in the future by sending out copies of the CD ROM.

As well as handling all aspects of design and proofing, we also offered clear guidance on the most environmentally friendly way to print the brochure. Working closely with our local printer  we identified a paper that combined a quality print feel, but was made of 100% recycled post consumer waste and bleached without any use of chlorine.

The result of our partnership is a good-looking, handy reference guide that AoC SW are using to increase their commitment to sustainable development, produced in an environmentally-friendly way.
