It’s August. Normal business practices are disrupted by the coming and going of people taking holiday. The rain is almost continuous and motivation levels are low. How on earth do you keep your sales team focused on meeting their targets?

BT OneDesk Marketing wanted their sales team to spend August talking to customers about special offers, maximising revenue at a traditionally slow point of the year. They challenged asabell to come up with an attention-grabbing approach to lift spirits and get results.

Using the Beijing Olympics as a theme, we encouraged sales professionals to win a taste of Olympic glory and customers to take advantage of short-term special Olympic offers. We created an email designed to be sent on 8 August, the opening day of the games, to give account managers a fresh discussion point with their customers as well as giving sales activity a specific launch date. Posters and incentive scheme information carried through the dramatic red Olympic theme, creating great impact in the offices, really bringing home the campaign messages.


And did the campaign increase revenues? BT’s August 2008 campaign is on target to exceed those of the previous August, an excellent result in the current economic climate.
